A few more hints and tips for improving engagement and productivity by managing remote teams and home workers include:

  • Staff need to know it is ok for them to tell you if things aren’t going well for them
  • Where people are struggling, look at solutions together (NB people with mental health issues often can’t ‘do’ what they know they need to)
  • At the start, get buy in from your team, as to how you will all work best together, when will you have team meetings etc
  • Remind each other what a good job you are doing
  • Encourage personal planning and self care
